Baseball Majors - A's
The third-seeded A’s capped off a late-season, five-game win streak by beating the top-seeded, 14-1 Rangers in a hard fought RWLL Majors championship game on June 13, 2015. The final game was very well-played by both teams, with the A’s leading for most of the way before the Rangers took a 5-4 lead to end the 5th inning. The A’s Pearse Kelly then led off the 6th inning with a double, followed by key hits by hot hitters Jack d’Entremont, Logan O’Sullivan and Gedd Constable, who drove in the winning run and scored a critical insurance run. The A’s took a 7-5 lead into the bottom of the 6th inning and held on for the win behind great pitching by d’Entremont and Kelly. During the final stretch of the season, the A’s had major contributions from every single member of the team (pictured above). Especially noteworthy was the A’s Jack d’Entremont’s pitching performance in the two playoff games he started, in which he faced a total of 50 batters and issued only one walk while striking out twenty!
